The Chicago firm Horwood Marcus & Berk Chartered, which does business as HMB Legal Counsel, will become part of Kilpatrick’s 10-month-old Chicago office beginning March 1 and create an outpost with more than 70 lawyers, the Atlanta-founded firm said. Kilpatrick, ranked No. 90 in the Am Law 100 with $520 million in revenue and roughly 600 lawyers, declined to detail the combined firms’ earnings.
Kilpatrick operates with more than 600 lawyers in 19 U.S. cities and four international offices in Europe and Asia. The combination will make the Chicago location one of Kilpatrick’s largest offices, the firm said.
